An intense ordeal of suffering, adversity and misfortune, leading all the way up to resilience, steadfastness and elation…

A ground-breaking new book that unfolds the story of a childhood abuse survivor and how she transforms from a self-destructive being to a fully confident, independent one.

No one could have imagined how Anu Verma, a resident of Coventry, an Indian origin, sexually abused from three to late adolescence, could manage to transform from a suppressed, miserable being to an outrageously liberated, assertive entity. Victim 2 Victor is an empowering story of Anu’s life—of how she survived her early gruesome years and healed through her own pragmatic will power.

This is an untold, raw story of how her parents made their way to the United Kingdom in their teens, in search for a better life, ignorant of the turbulent, mixed culture of the western society. The strict, Indian hierarchical society was a world away from that of the British nation they discovered, one that was undergoing significant legal, societal, and attitudinal changes towards women.

Victim 2 Victor takes readers on a remarkable journey of how Anu couldn’t escape those haunting memories for many years down the line, of how she couldn’t establish her identity, sexuality, or self-worth. This soul searching book narrates how she came close to ending her life, indulged in bad relationships and found escape in the most harmful ways. And later, how her travelling experiences and journey of self discovery battled her demons and saved her life. In the book, she relies on her science background and spiritual growth to explain her remarkable recovery and hopes to help others by sharing her story.

Victim 2 Victor is a candid memoir presenting the hidden meanings behind tragic events. It is aimed at readers who may have suffered abuse in a similar way and want to heal, or those who have a general interest in self-help.

So many problems the author faced and she seems to have come out fantastic on the other end. It’s the most inspiring story I have ever read.
Talking, writing, and speaking about issues help us to get over them though the societies we exist in do not practice this

This book is quite a heavy read, but a very important one for anyone who has dealt with/is dealing with trauma. It’s built a little bit like a how-to guide, which I really enjoyed. The first part is dedicated to the author’s own experience with trauma (particularly sexual and relationship trauma) which I personally found very compelling and intriguing, especially in the way she is able to reflect on her own experiences and show patterns of abuse, dating back from her childhood. This being said, what I also found interesting is that beyond the very serious incidents that the author has survived, she also tells the story of more insidious experiences that unfortunately many other women will identify with, from being trapped in abusive relationships plagued with alcohol to receiving unsolicited intimate pictures from men she barely knows. What I found particularly interesting in this book are not so much the individual assaults that the author recounts but the sheer accumulation of them and the picture they paint of the reality of a woman’s experience in today’s world, which is unfortunately desperately relevant in the #metoo era.

The second part of the book is a more general guide dedicated to healing methods, psychotherapy, mindfulness, ect. I felt like this part was quite insightful as well, and built in a way that you could quickly review the chapters and pick and choose the areas/methods of healing that you were most interested in/wanted to find out more about. Personally, I was particularly interested in what the author had to say about exploration and travel and how relating to other cultures helped her through her traumas. As someone who has find myself soothed by traveling as well, I found a lot of my own experiences to be similar to hers.

Overall, a very good read for anyone who wishes to learn more about trauma and healing.

I love the reflection and how she describes her thoughts through every situation. This is a sign of pure self-realization and inspiring to everybody. We all need to apply these reflection methods in our lives as it may help stop people acting silly.

This book allowed me to empathise with Anu because of how she allowed her readers to go through her self- development and bittersweet journey! Anu is very brave for writing about her journey of abuse and trauma to the public as it is not an easy thing to do! This book had a great balance of Anu’s personal journey and informative tips for healing such as yoga and meditation! One of my favourite parts to read of the book were when Anu regained her self confidence and happiness through travelling and it was nice to see how much and where she has traveled and as I would love to travel the world one day like her also! 🙂 I would very much recommend this book, especially for women who have also gone through abuse and trauma!

Wow, I’ve been reading this book all day and you really do not realize what a person goes through until they share their story and this author has shared her story perfectly. It is very well written and makes sense to why she had to be so strong. It is a wonderful read with strategies for self-healing which resonates with me into self help and growth. This book will help so many people to remove their limiting beliefs for those who haven’t got the tools to move on with their lives. A touching story, Highly recommend this read.

I really ask thank for this book. . It combines practicality with truth. It was also a big relief to me to find out there were other people like me. Now that I know what I can offer the world I can start building on my strengths and, understand vI was not made to be like everyone else.

Feeling worthless or isolated? Feel like it’s time to take yourself? Read this along, and perhaps, whatever you are going through, will look like nothing, to what this girl has been through her whole life.

Victim 2 victor by Anu Verma was such an emotional and deep read which made me feel so sad at the beginning as I wanted things to work better for young Anu, but later it all turned to an energetic and inspiring tell-all, as she evolved to a smart and independent lady and loving mother to a son. The book unfolds into two main parts, wherein the first half, the author explains all that she has been through, being a victim of sexual abuse at her very young ages. The saddest part was that she had become a victim of it again and again, up to the point she lost her own identity, self-esteem, and independence. Throughout the chapters, the author shares all the twists and turns that she had, the feelings of depression and anxiety, and how she got help, therapy, and her journey in overcoming all these negative feelings and emotions. During the second half, the author elaborates on all the tips and techniques that she used while overcoming her negative setbacks, which I felt could be really useful for anyone who is out there, looking for help to overcome similar situations.

The overall flow of the incidents and the content was well-aligned, and the author had used a simple yet inspiring writing style to let herself out. I can imagine how strong one should be, to come out like this, and to let the world know what they have been through and to make others inspired to be strong. It was such a great read and highly recommended.

What we see on the surface of a person isn’t what is happening internally, the battles people are fighting internally, negative thoughts, isolation, feeling lonely, self-harm, what contributes to this and lack of support. We go through so much. It is an inspiration for those who don’t have the tools to move on from traumas or problems and to those who may be going through pain right now

  15. Katelyn K. Richardson

Amazing book and a superbly talented author. “Victim 2 Victor” will positively impact and benefit thousands of people after they read it.

The author describes her journey as a victim so beautifully, I could not put the book down, so many highs and lows. She transforms her life through her personal growth which is a important message for us all. We must not remain victims but fight to achieve victory.

This is a must read so go and get this book!!

This book is not just a memoir but a relatable story of a woman who has managed to overcome the demons of her past. It is valuable guide book and tool which we could all learn from. It describes the authors journey and educates us on trauma and abuse and the techniques to overcome this. It is a valuable book to have for anybody who has suffered from abuse and may be suffering from trauma.

Her personal story is endearing and it has taught me that I should not suffer in silence and to communicate more and to love and accept myself and that’s the key to inner peace.

An honest book that guides you while being packed with honesty and reflection. It started off really sad that I was in tears, no child should have to go through what the author went through at the age of 3.The book got more powerful as I read it and shows that knowledge is power.

The advise and techniques she gives has opened up my mind to what is available out there. This book will be of service to everybody in the world and I wish the author all the success.

Anu, I received this book from amazon and I couldn’t put it down….we were both born In 1980 a day apart- both cancerians, but so different, I always thought of you as an independent, strong minded women. Who achieved anything she put her mind too. From a person that didn’t know your story it’s hard to see how vulnerable you were growing up. Now I know why you always wanted to travel to escape your demons. It saddened me that in the book I had sometimes been out on some of your destructive nights out. I never knew why you were always so crazy and wild, until now. I’m sorry you didn’t get the love and support you needed at the time. But I’m happy you have been able to see after a long journey, how truly amazing you are and I know how hard you have worked to build a wonderful life for you and Noah. Big hugs for being so brave and telling the world your story. Love you lots always Elisha xx

I have never read a book so fast. Part 1 really got me sad and I was happy then when I was learning about how the author overcomes the pain she suffered. This book is a great tool to help us to understand about trauma and abuse. It is educational and learnt me lots I did not understand about. The therapies are interesting and lots of new stuff I will apply on myself. I have done yoga and so I know how it benefits us and I will now want to continue with this knowing it will help me in the long term. I will keep this book and refer to it forever as so much I want to apply in my life. Thankyou for sharing very valuable tools.

This book came at a time me and my sister needed it the most after hearing of what happened to my sister when she was little. This book came as a real inspiration to me and so many others. Thank you for being so brave and sharing your story in order to help and inspire so many others as you did to us. It’s helped my sister to regain so much confidence she had lost.

  26. Monica Dougall

From the moment I picked up this book, I couldn’t put it down. It is such a heart tugging book that I needed to know all about Anu’s journey in life. My own memories of my childhood are fond; full of love, family, laughter and happiness and to think that that’s not everyone’s childhood memories is devastating. It’s a place where we assume we are safe. Reading Anu’s story made me feel angry, sad but it also brought a smile to my face as she continued to heal and pressed so hard to get to where she is now. I can’t imagine how she felt writing this book, but one thing is for sure, I can imagine how hard it was. So well done Anu, I hope this book will help others and they too heal and become victors as you have!

  27. Avi Jhanji

A heartfelt account of her life journey, that I am sure a lot of women can relate to! I like that the book goes into healing in detail and you can see the genuine help that the author wants to offer other women to become a better version of themselves!

I downloaded this book to understand trauma as I have suffered the majority of my life from depression. The book has been an excellent guide and gives some great tips on how to heal from trauma. I have been meditating for a few years now and am excited to now try hypnotherapy, yoga, and cold showers. This book is a valuable tool for everybody looking for tips on a better quality of life.

  29. Ellen.R

I was drawn to the powerful cover of this book as it came up as a recommendation and I read the sample and was drawn in to Anu and what she had been through. I had to download the rest of the book and am in awe of this powerful woman, being of Asian heritage, it must be hard to open up about such taboo topics because this is not easily talked about in the indian culture.
She is a brave woman o honest. I love the way the content is so raw and honest.

I find myself relating to this book on so many levels. It helped me see how whatever has happened in my life, has led me to where I am. Thankyou for this beautiful book and the value it has given to me in my life journey.

More often than not, a lot of children are abused sexually, physically, and psychologically every day. The abusers are in most cases well known to them and unfortunately, their families chose to act as if nothing happened. This is what happened to the author of this book, she suffered sexual abuse from the age of 3 and has had to live with the trauma that affected most of the decisions and choices she made as an individual. This book is not an easy read since the author has gone into details of the kind of abuse she underwent and how it affected her. “Childhood sexual abuse affects children across every ethnic, educational, religious, socioeconomic, and regional line. There is no discrimination in childhood sexual abuse” quote from the book

What makes this book different from the others is that the author has told her story and also included resources that can be used by those who have had similar experiences to heal. In the first part, Anu talks about her sexual abuse experiences both as a child and as an adult, her relationships, her traveling experiences as she sought to escape from the pain, her failed financial investments and her marriage among others. As I was reading, I couldn’t help but marvel at the amount of trauma she had to live with. In the second part, she discusses the various types of trauma and how they happen. At the same time, she also talks about the various healing therapies that are used to treat the different types of trauma. The third part is about her healing journey, methods, and therapies that helped her heal and become victorious. In the fourth part, she talks about decision making and why it’s important for the healing process.

The authors’ honesty and desire to help other people who have had similar experiences are what made me love the book. I cheered as the author become victorious in her journey. Anyone who is dealing with any form of trauma will benefit a great deal from this book. The author chose to explore this path in her book, hoping that it will also help others find themselves how she did, through travel, self-help, and a determination to cast off their damaging past.

Well written story of Anu’s journey. Some very deep and sad moments which brought tears to my eyes. Anu is a survivor and I’m so pleased that she was able to speak her truth and aspire to become the victor that she is . She shares some great techniques that helped her heal and it’s wonderful that she is able to educate others through her book so more survivors of trauma and abuse can themselves become victors. I would highly recommend reading this book .

The way she begins the book with a lengthy acknowledgement was special. She made sure to not miss anyone and it also provided a way to see who she is as a person. From the start my heart went out to her. So many women have dealt with the same things and aren’t able to speak on it so her deciding to write was brave of her. The fact of it being close people that even he family trusted is scary and even seeing she couldn’t even go to school without some type of troubles was heavy for me. It was such a relieve when Paul showed up in her life. I believe the turning point for her came when she realized those people were part of her personal development.. Throughout the book she showed what she went through, what steps she took and how she overcame it. With that I believe she will help many women do that same and that is amazing. She didn’t give just one way but many because one way will not get the job done. I’m glad I got this book and will pass it on and suggest it to other women and girls as well.

You never really know what has gone on in other peoples past. It is past experiences, both bad and good, and how those experiences have been dealt with that has shaped the person they have become. This book tackles the brutality of childhood sexual abuse and racism and one woman’s fight for survival.

Haunted by her memories she charts her life as. In her teens. She becomes a victim of the past before starting her journey to acceptance and healing. The book is sometimes quite graphic but this is very necessary when dealing with such an abhorrent subject.

The world has changed a lot during the authors lifetime. The attitudes in the1980s towards racism and abuse are thankfully very different today. I feel that in writing this book the author has accomplished something that wasn’t possible so publicly in the past. Sharing your journey of recovery in print is a brave and progressive accomplishment

At times it was a very uncomfortable read but do not let that put you off as it is an important aspect of the story which needs to be heard. You will be shocked, saddened, appalled and disgusted but as the author progresses through her recovery she uses her experiences to increase her self-worth and in doing so finds happiness, redemption and recovery.

I highly recommend this book. Not usually my genre but I am so glad I chose to read it. Again, don’t be put off by the subject matter – it’s a great read.

A journey from darkness into light
Victim 2 Victor by Anu Verma is a powerfully written and emotionally charged book. It isn’t an easy read by any means. The first part of the book is a heartbreaking account of the childhood sexual abuse that Anu was subjected to, which continued over the years. It is also a frightening look inside Indian culture, and the way that girls and women are perceived. As she gets older Anu throws herself from one unhealthy relationship to the next as she tries to make herself feel better, to try to find the person who will help her to heal.

Anu discovers a love of travel, and travels extensively, meeting lots of different people, some who will help, some who will harm further. She begins to explore, through the visiting of such wonderful countries, different forms of healing. She becomes a Reiki Master, employs yoga and identifies strongly with Buddhism. Anu then demonstrates how some or all of these healing practices can shape and change how you feel about yourself. I think this book would be of help to anyone who still suffers from lingering trauma and is at a loss how to begin to address it. A powerful, emotional read.

  36. Abby Holmes

This book is hard-hitting and straight to the point!!!
TW: This book and review will mention sexual assault, sexual harassment, depression, suicide, and rape. Please, if any of the above triggers you, don’t put yourself through the pain of reading it.

‘Victim 2 Victor’ by Anu Verma is an incredibly sad yet uplifting book about Verma’s journey from a young kid who had no self worth to a self assured woman. I don’t want to say this book is good (after all the events Verma went through are horrible) but the whole message of the book – that you can survive after the abuse – was powerful. I really respect Verma for being so strong as to write about her abuse.

This book has some very hard topics – sexual assault, sexual harassment – which are very important to talk about, but there’s also mentions of misogyny, culture and finding yourself which I also loved reading about, especially because i’m not from an Asian/Indian household. It was really fascinating to read about her experiences living in an eastern culture at home while being exposed to the western culture at school and seeing the difference between them.

This book is split into 2 sections: Verma’s history and her story of the abuse she suffered from, and then a self-help guide which offers advice to those who have been through what Verma’s been through. And it works in Verma’s favour. I actually liked the layout of this book, it was clear and laid out nicely (there was a really long chapter which I felt could’ve been split into maybe 2 or 3 chapters).

In the second section, like I said above, it is a guide for those who have suffered from what Verma’s been through and how to cope with what they’ve been through with an explanation of what sexual abuse for children and adults is like and what rape is. I’m not gonna go into too much detail for this section because there’s a lot but it’s all very informative.

I would recommend ‘Victim 2 Victor’ to anyone who has suffered through abuse and is looking for a starting point in helping themselves or for anyone who has an interest in self-help guides. It’s a very good book with a good message

A tower of strength you are xx

Victim 2 Victor is a memoir by Anu Verma of her own struggles coming to terms and starting the recovery from years of abuse. Her story begins as a child where she was abused at an extremely young age and carries through until she, herself, becomes a mother. It is painful story, as all of these are, as it details what this woman has gone through. Ms. Verma is very direct and open in telling her life story. After suffering the abuse at age 3 and then again at age 7, her attempts to forget her trauma just led to more trauma. Ms. Verma finds a spark somewhere inside her through the help of a therapist that starts her on the path of recovery, acceptance, resistance, and resilience. She tells her story with brutal honesty and frankness without a need to sugar coat her experiences or life choices. As she begins her journey of healing to overcome the trauma, she is equally honest and frank. You cannot help but me moved by her story. She acknowledges that she did not walk this journey alone, she openly admits without outside help, she would not be where she is today. It is a difficult yet inspiring read that can be used as a tool for someone who may be going through this kind of trauma. Reading this book could start you or someone you know on the rocky road to healing to come out the other side intact and whole again. It is very much worth the read!

Look, I’m not a happy crier. I might cry at songs about leaving and missing someone; I might cry at books where things don’t work out; I might cry at movies where someone dies or when bad things happen to innocent people. But the fight with which the victim took and changed her life with got me all choked up. This book is so inspiring and makes the reader understand that you can overcome the difficulties in your life.

  40. Michelle Wilson

An inspirational read to all, but particularly those who have went through similar trauma with sexual abuse as it will show you it is possible to make it out on the other side. The novel really made me count my blessings in my own life, as I have not went through nearly as much. Her story is told straight from the heart and the rollercoaster of emotions with some dark lows and high peaks leads to an ending that will make everyone smile. as someone raised by a single mother, it really puts those struggles into perspective swell, and adds a new level of appreciation to not just the author but women as a whole.

An absolute inspiration and a fantastic read

  41. Iza

I find it quite emotional reading this book. Hopefully, most of us won’t have suffered any of the experiences that Anu has. I definitely recommend this book to people who have suffered similar experiences and are looking for a way to deal with their own trauma

Brutally truthful account of a courageous and victorious woman. May others find their inner strength too through this book.

An Amazing piece of work by Anu Verma !! A must-read book ..I didn’t get the title when I saw it..but as I started reading..My heart started breaking so badly..I had to take pauses even just after reading what she actually suffered and how beautifully she survived .. and when she said :
“It struck me seeing so much beauty being born from something so ugly.”
it went straight into my heart !!

THE WAY THINGS HAPPENED IN HER LIFE IS JUST UNBEARABLE AND UNIMAGINABLE.. More power to her..and its inspiring how beautifully she explained every thing!! To everyone out there who ever suffered or know someone who suffered MUST READ IT .. Everyone should know how to handle such a person .. The victim should also know how to process and fight for their mental health..
Its not a routine thing that someone is daring enough to speak up and guide how to cope up with this such a stressful event .. and if this impressive lady Anu Verma did..lets appreciate and spread it to our loved ones so that they can be aware and be conscious of the signs and symptoms and people around their kids !!
Instead of blaming the victim..SUPPORT AND TRY TO UNDERSTAND THE PAIN OF THE VICTIM !!
P.s :Lets plan to travel the world 🙂 and Free our souls the way she did !!
    ALREADY HER FAN !!

I read Anu Verma’s brave and unsparing account of her own childhood abuse and felt total empathy for her consequential struggles with her identity in her adult life. I became totally involved in her destructive party lifestyle as she coped with the emotional damage that had been inflicted on her, I have also had dark thoughts and felt unable to communicate distress and know that her dangerous search for escape could have ended in disaster. It was lovely to read about her travels around Australia and the emergence of a stronger, more reflective person, who after a near death experience discovers a strong will to live and a close connection with nature. Reading about her travels in South East Asia I feel I would like to visit Thailand one day, it sounds beautiful and the people sound lovely. I love the very funny wasp story! – it takes a brave person to sleep in a room with that many wasps! This book deals with identifying abuse, which is important as those caught up in it can’t always take the important step back to dealing with it. Anu comprehensively covers techniques for self healing using powerful tools such as Reiki, Yoga, acupuncture and EFT. I am definitely going to use some of these techniques right away and set myself some goals. I need to challenge my long held negative beliefs and restructure my way of thinking. I will also look for classes doing yoga and study Reiki in more depth – A great book, thank you Anu.

I highly recommend this book to everybody as it will impact many people.

Very inspiring book, I enjoyed reading the book but on the same time I felt so sorry for the terrible experiences of the author.
Thank you for being so open, speaking loud it is the only way to be heard and make a change for the future generation.

Exceptional healing practises shared on the second part of the book.
Already recommended this book to people who I know them personally, with the hope that it will help them on their healing journey.

This book is a true story, based on a young girls life growing up who suffered abuse at the hands of friends of the family as well as family members. The book does not just focus on abuse it also charts her life and things she does growing up.

The book showed how the abuse she suffered mapped out her adult life and how her adult relationships had been effected by the abuse she had suffered as child.

She was born in the 1980 which I could relate to because of my age. People, places and events which were mentioned in the book I could relate.

At one stage in her life she decided to travel, which took her to many different places. I liked when she has an awaking during her travels, which I think helped map out her life in a more productive way. As she saw things that made her understand what life means in comparison to the abuse she had suffered.

This book was a good read and not just to be read by those who have suffered abuse, I found I had a better understanding of a person thinking and there actions after suffering this kind of abuse.

Also for me the book gave me a clearer understanding of how abuse is handled within different cultures. It was a thing of shame or something she was made to feel was her fault. Where as if she may have been from a different culture or this happened in a different era maybe the whole thing may have been handled differently and may have made her life start in young adulthood a little bit less confusing.

“Victim 2 Victor” is a must-read memoir for anyone who needs inspiration to excel after experiencing trauma. If you need help ending the self-imposed pity party, this book is for you. The candor and frankness with which Anu Verma details her own struggles and her ability to come to terms with those struggles will surely inspire her readers to do the same. This book is part memoir and part resource manual; the author provides actionable steps for overcoming obstacles. This is a great supplement for people in therapy or otherwise on their path to healing and enlightment. I liked that the author provided multiple pathways to mental health. She took the best methods from a range of approaches. This book is an extraordinary eye opener to methods to bring you peace and healing that most likely have not crossed your mind.It was comforting to know that persons who have been through absolute hell can not only survive but thrive and flourish.

This book may be triggering for abuse victims, but is overall fresh, thought-provoking and very well written. Victim 2 Victor is a five star read you will not be able to put down. This is a great resource for lovers of the self-help genre

Victim 2 Victor, by Anu Verma

This is a novel written from the first person view of a young Asian Woman. She was a victim of abuse and this is all about her story. She tells all about how she survived the physical, sexual, and mental abuse.
Growing up as an Asian woman, talking about such kinds of abuses were not the norm. Asian life is centered upon reputation and status. Speaking about abuse was not something that she felt comfortable with speaking upon. One of her abusers was actually in the family, making it even more complicated.
This book explains how the author rekindled the ‘light’ inside of her. This ‘light’ is used as a metaphor many times in this story.
This story is definitely not for the faint of heart. It tell the story of a young woman that was abused many times at a very young age. The story is sort of a diary of her journey through life. The story even explains her attempts at suicide.

    -Happy Reading.

Anu Verma’s Victim 2 Victor is an inspirational story about a woman’s journey through trauma and learning to process it, and to heal from it. If you are familiar with Tony Robbins, her book is heavily influenced by him. The author, Verma, has attended a few of his seminars. Verma doesn’t just copy his methodology, but she modifies it into what I felt to be a more holistic approach. It is not that Tony Robbins methodology is bad, but I felt like Verma’s book has a certain ompf to it that resonates with me in a way I struggle to articulate. I strongly relate to many aspects of her story, using traveling as escapism, struggling to stand up for myself, doubting that people would believe me.

I found Verma’s book to be especially helpful in explaining what hypnotherapy and hypnosis actually is, with clear examples, it was like a light bulb moment, oh that is what that actually is! As it turns out to be nothing like how I had pictured in my mind.

This is something I absolutely adored about Verma’s book, is that it has four very clearly labeled parts, and within those parts are chapters, and then very concise sections within. A lot of books in this genre just bounce around all over the place and don’t have a good flow to them, but I found Verma’s book to be neat and orderly. Perhaps I’m a bit neurotic but little things like that bring me a lot of comfort especially as I reread later on.

I highly recommend Anu Verma’s Victim 2 Victor, it’s given me a lot of encouragement that the way things are, aren’t always how they have to be.

In this tell-all, brutally honest book, Anu details raw accounts of her childhood abuse, teenage tumultuous identity crisis, young adult destructive experiments, and adult abusive relationships and how she found the strength, inspiration and determination to overcome her trauma and pain.

She shares the techniques she applied when she embarked on her healing journey to take charge of her life and become a now independent and confident woman, having a balanced life free of worries, who is proud of her heritage.

A heartbreaking but inspiring read, this book will strike all your emotions. You cannot but feel for Anu as she fearlessly admitted her failings and root for her when she decided that she did not want to be a victim anymore.

If you have experienced abuse and trauma, this book will give you the tools that will help towards your healing and becoming a victor. Or if you just want a motivational read, pick up this book and get inspired!

Victim 2 Victor by Anu Verma is a fantastic and inspirational book. I was truly touched by the book and the bravery of the amazing writer!

The first part of the book is about sexual abuse that started in Anu’s childhood and carried on for many years. It is hard to read and extremely distributing that such an innocent young girl was subjected to this. However, I applaud Anu for her bravery in sharing her story and how she healed from this awful time in her life.

Furthermore, I found it interesting to read about the culture that Anu was brought up around. I found it interesting that Anu lived in both cultures – Eastern and Western, and how she saw the difference between them on a daily basis. I am not very familiar with Indian cultural norms, and I found this educational about the dark side of the culture.

As Anu grows up she comes to terms with her past, sexuality, desires, and trauma but she is subjected to a different set of issues whilst this is occurring like drugs, partying, and racism.

It is very clear that Anu has dealt with so much trauma in her life that almost every reader will be able to relate to in some way, shape, or form. So, this is an important book to read, especially as Anu is healing. It is very inspirational and amazing to see that despite all odds against her Anu has been very successful! This is a great reminder to readers that no matter what happens in your past, you can battle through and finally live the wonderful life you deserve.

The second part of the book is about Anu got through her trauma as well as a very detailed explanation about sexual abuse, trauma, and how to recover from the trauma. This was very educational and I found that it covered all the questions I had. I enjoyed reading about how yoga can help with trauma too.

Some of the healing methods that Anu mentions and delves into include: psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, systematic desensitization, and many more. This part of the book is very insightful.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to everyone out there who needs an inspirational story. But beware – this is not a lighthearted read, it will pull on your heartstrings and your emotions. Be prepared to go on an emotional rollercoaster! Typically I do not read within this genre but this book has encouraged me too! Even if this is not your usual genre, I suggest you read it.

I rate this book 5* as this is an amazing story!

This book has so much extraordinary data! I can hardly wait to get more from this creator. Wonderful!!

  56. Casey Colahan

This book is a challenging, yet essential account of how the author conquered wounds caused by childhood sexual abuse, and became the hero of her own life that she is today. She has divided it into two sections. In the first section she describes her agonising, and ongoing abuse at the hands of a family friend and a relative, which started when she was just three years old. She was then assaulted again by a college student when she was sixteen. She recounts how growing up in a culture where women are viewed in a different way; feelings are not spoken about, and being raised in the United Kingdom in the eighties led her to a life of alcohol, drugs, bad relationships, and even suicide attempts. The second section she dedicates to explaining the methods she herself used in transforming her thought processes to help overcome her trauma, and other ones that could be useful in helping people who have been through a similar thing.

Her book is a raw, potent, and enlightening reminder that no matter what our pasts have presented us with, we can and will be victorious. She is uncompromising in the retelling of her story. It is courageous and truly admirable. Even though I have not experienced trauma in that way, reading about her travels and how they played a vital role in helping her, created a deep connection for me as I have been to all of the places she went to as well. It was said in her book: “if my expectations were turned into appreciation, the world would change immediately.” This is something I feel we should all try and embrace.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book. The author’s style of prose is frank, uplifting, and valuable in helping others all at the same time. What an extraordinary journey of healing this book is!

I am impressed how much organized story is this. From page one to end I was absorbed it story fully.

  58. Amwoma Mgoge

Anu’s s story is inspirational but yet a very unsettling story to read. Reading about how much she had to endure in the face of an imposing society that assigns special roles and places to women will definitely tickle uncomfortable feelings in you. This is especially the case because you are getting first-hand experiences from some who had to endure gender-based violence and abuses.
The book was a fantastic yet sad read. As the title suggests, it is about Anu Verma’s journey from victim to victor. So, despite the struggles, sexual abuses, I am glad that somehow the author leaves you with a happy feeling at the end.

Lots of women out there go through horrible things, just like what Verma went through. I find myself getting hungry when I try imagining that these things still happen and that they can happen even to people close to me. My heart aches for these women and anyone going through such experiences.

Nevertheless, as Anu suggests, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. If you desire true healing after going through horrible things in life, I recommend reading this book. You can learn from Anu’s experience of finding healing and how you can prevent gender-based abuses from occurring to people around you.

So Empowering, Informative from Page to Page.
When I first flipped the first ten pages, I knew I had to read it till the wee hours of the morning as the story is so captivating and inspiring—the type of book you repeatedly read for that instant motivation and inspiration. My husband bought me this book as a gift, and I can’t thank him enough for purchasing this book, which contains a priceless message. I am an avid reader of motivational books, but this is the best I have read so far. I felt reborn after reading this book; it felt like somebody narrated my life story in it.
Anu Verma talks about her traumatic past in the book; she emerged as a victor despite her encounter. Her story empowers every woman who has gone through sexual abuse, trauma, depression, or any abuse. My favorite phrase in the book is, there is light in the darkness; even if it is only a flickering light, it is always there and grows. Don’t we feel motivated already? A book worth your money and time.
Every therapist should get this book for their client—a book to the shelf.

Amazing book and a must read for anyone who has experienced traumas in their life and want to be inspired to find a path to healing. This book is part inspirational via the powerful story of the author’s real life experiences with trauma as well as a guide on overcoming past traumas in your life. This book is an inspiring personal story narrated by “Anu Verma” who is the author. According to the author, it is not easy to overcome and forget tragic events that occurred once in our life. Despite going through sexual assault, the author struggles all through to find her worth. The book is an inspiration that aims to give hope to people who may have experienced assault in their life and are struggling with trauma. It is important for all to read this message since there is a possibility of being assaulted or getting someone who has been assaulted and may need your help in form of advice or psychological support.
I appreciate the author’s decision to come up and share such an emotional story that can help others overcome challenges and probably help in curbing or reducing the incidences of sexual assault.

I love the book cover, as to me, it portrays that sense of peace you feel once you have finished the healing process and finally becomes a victor!

The book is valuable by providing insight regarding people who was or is being abused. It shows us how they experience the world, how it affects them and most importantly, that help is available to help them heal. Enabling them to move from victim to victor!

In the section about yoga, I think it will be beneficial to supply images of the different yoga poses. Especially for people who are not familiar with yoga at all.
The book consists of three parts, each with its chapters and subsections. I did find the chapters quite long, but it could not have been done any other way considering the huge amount of information provided. Although, dividing the content into subsections does make it easier to read.

The author writes from her own experience of abuse and the treatment and healing strategies she has implemented. The extensive list of references supplied indicates that much research has been done. Therefore, I believe that the book should be factually correct.

The author has an easy-to-read writing style, which makes the book enjoyable to read and the information easy to comprehend.
The book is a thorough source of information regarding abuse and its effects on a person. It provides valuable information regarding therapy options and other healing strategies to move from victim to victor.

I recommend this book for people who would like help to heal from abuse. Or if you want to help someone you know who suffered abuse. Or anyone who would like to use the book to spread awareness.

    Thrilling Experience
As the name of the book suggests, the book brings forth the topics that one must deeply think about. I chanced upon reading this book and I’m happy to have done that. A lot of learning has to undergo when the reading of a book takes place and this book is an answer to all the queries that may erupt in anyone’s mind. The book is a heavy read but surely it brings forth the genius of the author. The storyline is simple and easy to understand. I highly recommend reading this book and possessing one on your bookshelf.

Victim 2 Victor by Anu Verma is a life changing experience about a woman who used travel and therapy to transform her entire life.

It revolves around a British Indian girl who has gone through sexual abuse and emotional abuse starting from a very young age of three and how she became her own hero and overcame the demons she has been battling throughout her life.

This first part of the book is a heart-wrenching experience. She recounts her life story starting with how she suffered sexual abuse in silence from an early age from a neighbors and even family members. she tells us how she dealt with not being in control of her own body, lack of self-esteem and self-worth, which leads her down the path of partying, drugs, drinking and even toxic relationships. she also points out how she made various suicide attempts but was always saved by her friends. When she got fed up with her life, she took a tour around the world which led to her healing process. The second part of the book is basically a guide for those who have been through similar experiences and want to understand what they are going through and begin a journey of healing.

I have a lot of admiration for this woman because she is so strong. This book tells us about how in the midst of hopelessness, she didn’t give up on herself. It is such an inspiring read. It is also an eye-opener to people that cannot understand what it feels like to go through rape or any sexual trauma at all. It is also a guide book for those on a healing journey. It could be through therapy, reiki, yoga and even Buddhism etc. She breaks down the intricacies in each energy healing process.

This book a wonderful and enlightening journey to embark on. I recommend this for anyone and everyone

The author as a young girl has suffered a lot of sexual harassment. It has traumatised her, she could not trust any men and entered into wrong relationships. She even lost faith in love. I don’t understand why she didn’t take help of her parents and friends earlier? But she’s a victor, who has the courage to overcome everything. She healed her soul spiritually by doing reiki. I admire her for her courage

I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I really like inspirational biographies. This book sounded exactly like my type of book.

The book is very positive. For the most part, the book is very uplifting even though it talks about abuse. The writer uses travel and yoga for her journey towards healing. As a lover of both, it made the book enjoyable for me.

The book was written as almost 2 books. The first half of the book is her story or journey. I really liked this part of the book. As this part of the book was ending, I was confused. The writer is summarizing her life but I was only half way through with the book. I so enjoyed reading her amazing story.

The second half of the book I didn’t like as much. This part of the book is more technical. It has definitions, theories, and some science. The book went from a general audience to a very specific audience. This part of the book seemed aimed at academics or (psychology, sociology, medical, etc.) university students.

The techniques and research was good. It wasn’t what I expected in the book. The last part of the book was how to change your life. The advice was good. The author is very knowledgeable. It just didn’t seem to flow well in the book.

I am thankful for having the opportunity to read tge book. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Victim 2 Victor was really inspiring and moving. It at the same time, broke my heart and made it feel full knowing Anu was able to overcome her difficulties. It gives really good insight into struggling with mental health and trauma for people who may not be familiar with those phenomena. I highly recommend it.

This is the true story of the authors trauma from sexual abuse and her powerful overcoming of her past. Victim 2 Victor offers much more than the author’s journal from recovery to happiness – it also provides a guiding light for others trapped in the darkness of an abusive past. This book is recommended for anyone who needs spiritual healing, emotional support, and constructive advice about overcoming traumatic events.

How to Heal and Recover From Sexual Abuse
Anu Verma’s book Victim 2 Victor is an inspirational book about Anu’s life and her journey through trauma and how Anu learns to process it, and to heal from it. Anu struggles coming to terms and starting the recovery from years of abuse. Anu’s story begins as a child where she was abused at an incredibly young age and the abuse carries on into her adult relationships, as she meets one man after another who treat her badly and abuse her.
Thankfully once Anu becomes a mother she seeks help and begins her journey of healing to overcome the trauma as she is determined not to let this affect her relationship with her son, and as a mother her protection instincts kick in and are extraordinarily strong towards protecting him.
This is a self-help Genre book and I hope this book brings piece and healing to any victims out there. A very professionally written book and it is nice and comforting to know that people who have been through absolute hell and abuse can not only survive but turn their abuse into positiveness no matter what and thrive and flourish as adults.

Victim 2 Victor, by Anu Verma, is an inspirational book based on a true story depicting how the effects of childhood sexual assault brought fear, frustration and hopelessness to Anu Verma. Through her self-discovery mechanisms she is able to break the cycle and let go of the pent up emotions, childhood trauma, guilt and fear of her dark past and change her life for the better.
In this book Anu Verma integrates her skills with life experiences to help those who have gone through similar traumatic experiences. As a reader who genuinely relates to the character’s feelings, I am particularly amazed with how the author maintains the first character narration. It draws the audience closer to her experiences. The way she builds her childhood memories tries to defend her pure conscience, but the same is suppressed by the very familiar people who should help her guard the norms of chastity. Anu Verma is eager to kill the “demon” of fear, and strives to achieve this through her travelling around the world, practicing of yoga, new friends, learning from the new crazy adventures and cultures all which culminate to her curiosity to discover a ray of hope for her already darkened past.
I applaud the author for having the ability to find her strength and value her self worth. Her teaching methodologies on trauma and help readers come out the other side with a clearer perspective on life. One thing I truly appreciated was her comprehensive counselling therapies at the end of the book. There is no doubt that she devotedly yearns to help the next broken heart. Victim 2 Victor is well equipped to empower and counsel all the readers who are going through a similar experience.

Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of “Victim 2Victor” by Anu Verma.
    4 out of 4 stars

Victim 2 Victor by Anu Verma is a non-fiction book in which the author opens up about the trauma and abuse suffered by her. She had the innocence of her childhood jeopardised when she faced sexual abuse by the people she had trusted. The trauma strung out into her adulthood, where she repeatedly found herself in abusive relationships. Though bad things happened to her, she didn’t allow them to shape her life. She decided not to see herself as a victim, but persevered in the dark times and came out a victor.

My rating for Victim 2 Victor is 4 out of 4 stars. It is an incredible book about an exceptional person who didn’t allow herself to succumb to the unending struggles in her life. It is heartbreaking to read the bad stuff, but in the end, it is more about motivating others. The flaws in this book are next to none.

Victim 2Victor consists of four sections. The first part recounts everything that has happened to the author, from her childhood to the present time. In the next three parts, the focus is on the definitions of abuse and trauma. It also offers several healing methods that equip the reader with enough tools to help themselves or someone else. It takes a deep dive into the psyche of a person suffering from abuse. It is uninhibited in its discussion of self-blaming, victim-blaming, lack of support from family and friends, the sense of alienation, and the struggle with mental illness. The story moves quickly, as the writer touches on all the essential points without stunting things.

Even though she lets the reader in on every abuse and struggle that she has been through, Verma makes it clear that this is not a sob story but an inspirational one. She encourages others to strive for a better life by showing them how to love themselves. Instead of preaching about it, she takes a practical approach to healing. She offers actual tools to help yourself with, especially when you want to do something about your (or someone else’s) situation and don’t know where to begin.

The best thing about Victim 2Victor is that it transcends the subject of trauma, and its teachings can be used by anyone to make their life better. That is why I would advise everyone, except children, to read it. Young adults should read this book, but they must have some guidance to process sensitive content. If you have been through some kind of abuse or trauma, then this book can nudge you in the right direction. If not this, then at least it can help you understand someone else’s trauma and know what they might need at the moment.

Anu’s book is one of those rare pieces of utter vulnerability and courage you find when you’re ready to become energized by it. I had to stop reading multiple times because the emotions the events Anu describes of her life dredged up unexpected emotions in me. I related to her poignant and, yes, hurtfully beautiful descriptions of the powerlessness she felt when being abused growing up. Her commitment to not sugarcoating her loss of self in the aftermath of this darkness is admirable. Not many authors that write about abuse are willing to disclose such personal observations of their unhealthy coping mechanisms and negative thought patterns before getting better and reclaiming their life. Anu does not show any fear–she recognizes that there is immense power in vulnerability. I loved how she structured the book with the healing modalities she’s learned described in great detail in the latter part. All in all, I highly recommend you pick her work up and give it a shot. You will not regret it!

Books always seem to appear at the right time in my life. This book’s simple message left me awestruck, genuinely inspired and profoundly moved. This book was astounding.Easily one of the best books I have ever read across all genres. The author puts it all out there for the betterment of anyone willing to read. It is a peek into an amazing woman’s life- and not so ordinary life lessons along the way. With a play of different influences and choices she had to make, it allows us to also examine our own choices and the possible whys behind them. It’s for anyone who seeks the clarity and courage to have a deeper understanding on their personal truth. In our quest for purpose and pursuit of happiness, this introspect truly seems to be of great value to advance our authentic self, every day, through all the traumas we have to face. Five very well deserved stars!

  83. Gary H

There are two reasons for this book to exist.

The first is that it is part of Anu Verma’s recovery. Holding the pain inside stops one from healing. Writing it down is a way of not holding it inside. Putting it into a book gets it farther away, and getting the book published gets it even farther away.

The Author explains the second reason very succinctly: “It hasn’t been easy, and I lost myself along the way. But I did it, and so can you.”

Remember to not try compare your pain to someone else’s pain. That’s like trying to tell a blind man the difference between red and orange. The author doesn’t do that. She tells what happened and the reader knows that it must have cause a lot of hurt.

The first part of the book tells about how she was a victim. As a child she had some terrible things done to her, she abused by some really bad people, and people that should have aided her did not. She tells how she would try to distance herself from the pain and those people, and how that didn’t always work out.

The second part is for the reader. It’s the “and so can you” part of the book. Anu details all the the techniques she used that worked for her. She gives a good description of the technique, how far she went into learning the technique, and how much of it someone would need to benefit from it. This is the part of how you too can create a path to victory.

Victim 2 Victor is both a memoir and informational/inspirational/self-help manual. The author tells the story of growing up in Coventry England during the 80s and 90s as a daughter of Indian immigrants. She has several wrenching sexual abuse experiences starting when she is just three years old. The author does not shy away from disturbing details about her experiences though this does not feel like “trauma porn.” Familial, cultural and personal hurdles keep her from being able to talk about her abuse much less get help for it. In her young adult years she seeks out adventurous travel to places like Thailand etc. Often going alone. She feels she can leave her trauma behind if she keeps moving.

Eventually she returns to England and begins to heal in her own way using new age techniques like reiki. The second half of the book is the author’s take on how to heal from the trauma of repeated sexual abuse and it’s aftermath. She offers several suggestions for paths readers can take to heal and documents her own journey.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Victim 2 Victor. It was advertised as part personal story and part educational guide. Let me explain what that’s like. First the author describes her personal story. I found myself totally in awe and horrified by this section. The world can be an ugly place, and yet, it was shared so honestly and open only in the book. The author has no regrets and has fully embraced life, which is the most astonishing part of the book.
Then, the author shifts to describing more educationally, definitions of abuse and the different types and signs of these abuses. It’s honestly not easy to read, but it does give an extensive array of vocabulary that would be helpful for therapists, teachers and anyone in public service fields.
To continue the education section there are short descriptions of the techniques the author used to heal and why they were helpful. I am lucky that I found neurofeedback that changed my life, but this book showed me that there might be other modalities to help deepen my healing. While I understand that not everything can be summarized into a small section of the book, my favorite techniques were ones that could be utilized right out of the book. Need a break? Use one of the yoga poses that were described. Have a stressful decision to make? There’s a chapter on how to do just that. I feel like this book would be super helpful for someone who feels lost or drowned by their history.

Victim 2 Victor is a sad yet inspiration story of childhood abuse and trauma and how Anu Verma persevered and became a victor in the end. We begin by learning of her Asain Indian culture and the abuse she endured multiple times very early on in life. I will be honest, it is very difficult to read at times because of the raw, emotional content but it is definitely worth your times as you learn valuable lessons on dealing with abuse and trauma. In Part 1 of Victim 2 Victor, we focus on previous trauma and how that depleted our author’s self-worth and changed how she would view sex and relationships for life. In Parts 2 – 4, we focus on how Anu picked herself up to become and even better version of herself than she ever thought possible.

In reading this book I cannot help but think of this Maya Angelo quote, “Each time a woman stands up for herself, she stands up for all women.” In sharing this raw, book delving into personal struggle and trauma, Anu has taken a stand for all women. It is truly inspiring to see a child go through emotional abuse, but what is worse is not having the ability to discuss it without family or friends. Burying and harboring your past pain takes many tolls on your life and relationships. This book is very near and dear to my heart having gone through trauma in the past, I feel like Anu is like a friend to me and I have helped bear some of the burden. I am truly thankful for the healing techniques enumerated in this book and am going to give Tony Robbins books and lectures a try in the hopes that I can also become a better, more peaceful version of myself. Victim 2 Victor is an empowering memoir which is truly inspirational and definitely worth the read!

This is an absolutely heartbreaking yet inspirational story. It was gut wrenching from the first page when the author talked about first being molested at such an incredibly young age. It’s absolutely devastating to consider. While I’m fortunate enough to not relate to this kind of trauma, I do know several people very close to me who can’t say the same thing. It’s absolutely gut wrenching to read, but also very important.

I’ll try not to give too much away here. This book took me through a wide range of emotions. I was sad when she discussed her abuse towards the beginning and continuing throughout the book. I was fearful when she went through her travels alone and continued to date men that were unhealthy, and I was so happy for her at the end of her story when she talked about where she was now. Her story is proof that those who have had the cards stacked against them from an early age can come out of the other side successful and content.

The educational section at the end was very informative and I learned quite a bit from it. I thought I knew a good amount around trauma and abuse, but these categories include a lot more than I knew. I think this part will be good for those that may struggle to put a word or phrase to what they’re feeling or went through. Overall, this was a tough read at times but absolutely worth it.

“Victim 2 Victor” by Anu Verma is a moving, raw memoir that is a must-read for people healing from trauma and abuse. The author is refreshingly honest about the sexual abuse she endured. This trauma impacted her as an adult, and she repeatedly became involved in abusive relationships. She often felt isolated and lacked support from her family.

Even though this author experienced devastating events she did not remain a victim. Though she was victimized in horrific ways, her strength allowed her to courageously share her story.
This book has four sections. In the first segment, the author discusses her life – the good, the bad, and the ugly – including her travels and her return to the UK, where she grew up. She also discusses her experiences with therapy and the tools she gained as a client.

Next, the author addresses what abuse is. Her chapter on trauma was excellent – it was a comprehensive overview of the types of trauma and moves into healing trauma. The author includes all the types of treatment – again, an excellent and comprehensive summary.

This author was incredibly insightful and aware, and I loved the section where she discusses how traveling assisted in her healing. She learned from her abusive and traumatic experiences and showed that she could apply the life skills she learned to her relationships.

I also appreciated that the author included energy healing – including yoga – and the yoga poses that are healing. I practice yoga, and I so appreciated the author included this section!

If you are on a healing journey and struggling, PLEASE pick up this book. Though some of the sections are painful to read and might be triggering, there are so many wonderful suggestions based on this author’s own life experiences.

This book is so inspiring! I loved the author’s honesty and the fact she offers practical action steps.
Ms. Verma is so candid and honestly discusses her feelings and experiences in such a way that others can relate to her. She is likable and her writing is exceptional. I found myself laughing and crying while reading this book. I highly recommend this book – you will not be disappointed.

Victim 2 Victor is an amazing story of abuse, the aftermath, and recovery. Those who have been victimized or know someone who has will find this book useful. The only drawback for me was that it was incredibly triggering, resulting in some bad dreams. However, the information is useful, and it was worth it to make it through the book, although I had to stop reading for a few days.
The book outlines the author’s journey and many options for healing and ongoing emotional and physical health. I have tried some that the author mentions, but not all. It is worth reading this to discover all the possible ways to heal from abuse and trauma. The Reiki section is good, I have always wanted to learn more about this practice. The book also looks at the emotional freedom technique of tapping. I like the movie technique and tearless trauma, which kind of reminded me of EMDR. The author makes a connection with healing and weight loss. As am emotional eater, I totally understand this!
The decision-making section was my favorite, as this is something I have really struggled with. I love the idea of examining limiting beliefs and changing them. I feel life is a journey of finding ourselves and making conscious decision to heal is so valuable. For most survivors, the process of healing is not a one-time event. It is ongoing and in the process, we discover so much about ourselves and how trauma affects the body and mind. Great book, I will be reading the ‘action’ sections again.

Victim 2 Victor is a story that anyone anywhere in the world who has experienced assault can relate to. Some of the trials that the author goes through are cultural in nature, but most are so similar to the experiences that everyone feels after assault. The isolation, the confusion, and the way the shadow of the events seem to chase after you anywhere you go in the world and cast a fog around any good thing that you try to do in life. I have experienced so many similar things to what the author went through in this book and found my own way to become a victor instead of a victim in the end. The author’s story breaks my heart for the little girl in the beginning who is going through these things but then, the author heals that broken heart throughout the story with the retelling of her life and what she did to heal herself when the rest of the world seemed too constantly be against her. The story has a special place in my heart now and I feel as though I know the author personally after reading it. She does not do what many do when they talk about assault. She does not sugar coat it, nor does she try to gloss over the feelings of confusion or anger that one feels and how one attempts to make it all make sense in their own heads. The author specifically talked about how she responded to trauma’s while she was in school and for me, that was eye opening, as I had gone through the same thing in a different place and in some different ways. What a beautiful ending that seems more like a glorious beginning. Anu Verma, thank you so much for writing this. The world needs to hear your story.

This memoir was one of a kind. It is raw and moving and it really made me think about my own past. The book details how we heal from trauma and abuse. The author was open and honest about the sexual trauma she had endured and even though it happened in her childhood, she took it with her to her adult life as well. This caused her to gravitate toward abusive relationships that she just couldn’t see herself getting out of.

The author also felt as if her family didn’t support her the way that she wanted them to. This caused a lot of hardships in her life, but this memoir is just one way that she has channeled her trauma. In the beginning of the book, she talks about the good and the bad and when she went back to the UK, where she spent her childhood. She then focuses more on therapy and how much it has helped her get through this.

There are some tough parts to read in this book, so if you are triggered, you may want to skip some of those details. Overall though, this book is incredibly inspiring and although I did shed a few tears because her story is much like mine, I love the advice that she gives about therapy and about how she has started to deal with her trauma.

I would tell anyone who believes in therapy to read this book. If you want a motivational read, this is one of the best that I have ever had the chance to read! I applaud her!
