Causes of deception

Lies are like wishes according to experts. Researches identifies three major reasons of why people deceive. This include:

  • To protect or promote themselves
  • To harm others
  • To get something that they want

Avoiding punishment is a common reason which motivates children and adults to lie with their parents.

Being betrayed is one of life’s bitter experiences. Betrayal destroys trust, and ultimately destroys relationships. Without trust, families, institutions, businesses and most certainly a marriage cannot function properly. Betrayal breaks a person to his core, because it destroys his ability to trust.

Causes of Betrayal

There are three principal reasons of betrayal.

The first is excessive passion, greed, ambition and lust for something. A person is liable to betrayal when he becomes unable to control these vices. Individuals who desire to have a luxurious life and to become wealthy can sometimes be seen misusing, stealing or embezzling the information that is often given to him in confidence. The overpowering addiction of sex may also lead a person to betray his marriage.

The second biggest reason for betrayal is the belief that betrayal is sometimes necessary to achieve a greater good. In this instance, betrayal is not referred to as an evil but a holy act. There is no harm in betraying a person to save his life.

Lastly, the third main cause of betrayal is a strong desire to prove how smart they are to other people. Individuals who deceive, manipulate the lives of others to stir up trouble.

Betrayal is a terrible act, because it destroys the victims ability to trust again. It also results in the victim doubting their abilities of judgement, and destroys self-confidence.

When partners violate their values to achieve a temporary sense of empowerment, at this stage, betrayal occurs in a relationship. Betrayal can cause mental contamination that can be aroused by non-consensual acts. It increases by the introduction of betrayal themes.

Ideal, healthy relationships are built on freedom, mutual respect, trust, openness and honesty. They are maintained through truth and faith. Honesty between a relationship keeps the love real. Deception is the third party that should never be welcomed in a relationship for a healthy and honest union.

Let us hold onto our ability to trust others and never lose confidence because of the mistakes of other’s. Let us try and hope that we will be able to maintain our trust in mankind to have healthy relationships for a satisfying life.
